Heralding the good news
St. Johns hospital was founded by the Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios of venerable memory. It was started with a view to providing qualitative medical care to the vulnerable sections of the society. His Beatitude wanted St. Johns hospital to keep paces with the other great hospitals in the trvandrum city so that the poor may enjoy better health care services. Having this intention in mind His Beatitude made clarion call to donate generously to the cause. St. John’s hospital is owned and managed by St. John’s Health Services of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum. This hospital started functioning 1963 by His Grace Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios of happy memory. The hospital effectively utilizes the combined resources received from religious organization and the Government to provide the best possible care for the afflicted in a compassionate atmosphere.
In November 2011, this hospital was renovated and renamed as St. John’s Community hospital in the Malankara Medical Village, Pirappencode by His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos.
