That they may “That they may dwell together in happiness”be happily together

The Snehapoorvam Oru Veedu project is a flagship initiative of the Major Archbishop’s Charity Fund, born from the conviction that providing shelter is a divine mandate. Guided by the belief that neglecting the basic needs of our neighbor is a failure in our duty to God, His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos launched this mission to restore dignity and joy to the homeless.

A Vision of Compassion Without Borders

For His Beatitude, the Church exists in the Body and Blood of Christ, which finds its truest expression in service to the poor. Demonstrating this universal love, the project’s inaugural phase in 2013 provided 50 homes to families from Hindu and Muslim communities, emphasizing that the Charity Fund serves all of God’s children, regardless of creed.

Defining the Need: Our Impact in Numbers

A comprehensive survey conducted across the Major Archdiocese identified a critical housing crisis, with thousands of families living in subhuman conditions.

Project Milestones (as of 2026):

Total Homes Completed: 2302 families have successfully moved into safe, habitable homes through the first and second phases.

Community Collaboration: This “herculean” task was made possible by the heartfelt contributions of parishes, institutions, and well-wishers who joined the Major Archbishop’s vision.

The Ongoing Mission: While 1,632 families are now sheltered, over 600 deserving families are currently awaiting assistance for the next phase of construction.
