“That they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
The Major Archbishop’s Charity Fund of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum is a concrete expression of God’s love in action. Our mission is rooted in a holistic approach to human development—nurturing the spiritual life while actively improving the physical and social conditions of the people around.
Our Visionary Leadership: Since assuming office as the Father and Head of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church, His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos has placed the alleviation of human suffering at the heart of his ministry. Guided by the belief that the priesthood is an extension of Christ’s love for humanity, His Beatitude has dedicated his role to easing the burdens that affect the people of God.
The Tradition of the St. Baselios Feast: The Charity Fund finds its momentum during the annual Feast of St. Baselios, the heavenly patron of His Beatitude. On this significant occasion, His Beatitude marks his feast not with personal celebration, but with a gesture of receiving for the poor. The contributions received during this period are strictly dedicated to high-impact social ventures. These projects serve the most vulnerable members of society, ensuring that the spirit of the feast translates into tangible relief.
Our Core Principles: All charitable initiatives under the Major Archbishop’s Fund are governed by a commitment to long-term social transformation. We base our interventions on the following pillars
Human Dignity: Recognizing the inherent value of every individual.
Empowerment: Providing the tools for people to uplift themselves.
Sustainability: Ensuring projects create lasting, multi-generational change.
Interconnectedness: Building a community where we are responsible for one another.
Social Transformation: Moving beyond relief toward systemic progress.
