In August 2018, the State of Kerala faced an unprecedented natural disaster characterized by unrelenting rainfall, landslides, and flash floods. This catastrophic event devastated thousands of families, particularly those residing along coastlines, riverbanks, and reservoirs. Beyond the tragic loss of life, many families saw their homes, livestock, and livelihoods swept away.

In immediate response, the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum mobilized its entire organizational infrastructure to join government departments in urgent rescue operations. Recognizing that rehabilitation is a herculean task, the Major Archbishop’s Charity Fund was strategically redirected to provide long-term support for flood victims, ensuring the most vulnerable could rebuild their lives with dignity.
